Driver likely to retire next week

Sources close to Driver are saying that the Packer legend will likely announce his retirement in the coming days. It’s something we all expected, yet have dreaded for quite some time. Rest assured that when he makes it official, we’ll be here to send him off the right way. Donald Driver is the definition of The Pack Mentality. It’s been a hell of a ride DD.

Donald Driver appears to be leaning strongly toward retiring this offseason, according to a report in USA Today.

The report, which cites a source who’s familiar with Driver’s thinking, said Driver isn’t 100 percent sure but could announce his retirement as early as next week.

Driver, who turns 38 next week, has played his entire 14-year career with the Packers. He caught only eight passes this season was inactive for three of the team’s last five games this season, playoffs included. He was a healthy scratch in two of those three games.

    I hope he does
I love Driver’s heart his perseverance and willingness to do anything for the team but he holds a roster spot and salary cap that can’t be justified. A”one more year guy” that I am in favor of holding on to is Woody. For all the same reasons and he still can physically perform at a high level I hope we sacrifice the cap $$ and let it ride. Both men are true talents that I personally have gotten a lot of enjoyment watching and I wish them nothing but the best but for the love of God don”t let Driver retire a Lion and Woodson a Bear. That Favre thing was hard on all of us

That is so true John. I am a die hard Packerfan. I would really hate to lose most of the players from last years team. But it is Donald Driver choice if he want to retire. I wish he would stay another season.
